    Kansas City Missouri March 2015

Steven Eubank is no stranger to Rocky and if you’ve read much on this site you know that he is one of my all-time favorite Rocky folks.  When UMKC decided to do Rocky they brought him in to direct and as usual he did a fantastic job.  This cast was beautiful and talented.  I was especially impressed with their Narrator and Frank N. Furter.  Frank’s version of I’m Going Home is one of my very favorites right up there next to Aaron Tracy’s from Mind’s Eye Theatre’s Production 2004.  Sadly between work and classes I didn’t do a proper write-up at the time but one thing I can tell you that really made this production stand out was the incredible set.  It was definitely one of the most interesting ones I’ve seen.  Most of the set was backed with see through plastic and the walls would take on whatever color was lit behind it.  Simple concept with a huge payoff.
